Calhoun County Municipal Court Warrants
Calhoun County municipal courts are the city-level trial courts. They hear traffic citations, ordinance violations, and municipal misdemeanors inside their own city limits. Miss a required setting and the judge can issue an FTA warrant. Alabama's official form titles it an Alias Warrant of Arrest for Failure of Defendant to Appear, though city pages usually just say FTA or outstanding warrant. That warrant grows out of an existing municipal case, unlike a fresh arrest warrant, which needs a new sworn complaint and probable cause. The docket split matters in practice, not just on paper. The Calhoun County Circuit Clerk keeps Circuit and District Court records. Each city's clerk or magistrate keeps the municipal file. The Calhoun County Sheriff may display or serve some city process. Still, a blank Sheriff-table result does not prove the city warrant is gone. Recall, court dates, and bond terms for the city case rest with the Calhoun County municipal judge. Two offices, two files, one answer.
Calhoun County Municipal Warrant Network
The Seventh Judicial Circuit municipal-court directory lists five Calhoun County municipal warrant courts: Anniston, Oxford, Jacksonville, Piedmont, and Ohatchee. It gives each court's contacts. Southside's city site documents its own Municipal Court, clerk contacts, docket, and citation portal. So six city channels cover Calhoun County. No shared countywide municipal-warrant portal exists.
The directory is a routing aid, not a warrant roster for Calhoun County. It helps you call the right court. Calhoun County cities route warrant work to the municipal court, municipal police, or the Sheriff, and no office here names a separate city marshal warrant service unit. Use each office for its own role only. Note: Piedmont, Oxford, and Southside cross county lines, so confirm the county and court named on the citation before acting.
Calhoun County Cities With Municipal Courts
Each Calhoun County contact below comes from an official court or government source. Have your own name, date of birth, citation or case number, and scheduled date ready when you call. Procedures differ by city. Anniston and Oxford post set warrant-check windows. Jacksonville gives a direct surrender rule, and Southside offers a citation lookup plus a local-warrant phone route. Piedmont and Ohatchee publish no warrant interface, so in those Calhoun County cities the clerk comes first.

Older directory addresses can conflict. Trust the current Calhoun County city court page when they do: Anniston now uses West 13th Street, and Jacksonville uses Public Safety Drive.
Calhoun County Municipal Warrant Windows
Anniston Municipal Court posts a Calhoun County municipal-warrant and record-check window Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Bring picture ID. A record check costs a $10 fee. The Calhoun County court runs weekdays, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with court on Wednesday. No phone continuances there. A call can confirm procedure. It cannot change the required setting. Oxford runs its Calhoun County window Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Picture ID is required there too. General court is Tuesday at 3:00 p.m., and traffic court is Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Oxford likewise refuses phone continuances. Its payment portal, and its cash, cashier's check, or money-order options, do not replace a judge's recall.
Key point: Anniston and Oxford publish direct Calhoun County municipal-warrant checks, but neither promises that online payment recalls active process.
Checking a Municipal Court Warrant
Start a Calhoun County municipal-warrant check with the city named on the citation, summons, payment notice, or missed-date notice. No Calhoun County city posts a public warrant roster. Payment pages may show citation details, and Southside documents two helpful field combinations. The clerk or magistrate is the final status channel. The Calhoun County Sheriff's public Outstanding Warrants table works only as a second check. It cannot answer for the city court.
- Identify the city court and collect your own name, date of birth, citation or case number, and court date.
- Use the city’s official citation interface where available; Southside accepts Last Name plus Citation/Case Number or Last Name plus Date of Birth.
- Call the municipal clerk or magistrate and ask whether an FTA warrant exists, what bond or appearance applies, and where to report.
- Attend the published record-check window with required identification, or ask the city how to request a lawful copy.
- Check the Sheriff’s Outstanding Warrants table and call the Warrant Clerk at (256) 241-8040 if a result needs confirmation.
Sometimes the case sits in District or Circuit Court instead. Then use the Calhoun County Circuit Clerk's public terminal, Just One Look, a written copy request, or the correct division phone. Alabama has no statewide public name-searchable warrant system. ALEA or NCIC access is not open to a public self-check.
Calhoun County Municipal Warrant Phone Checks
Southside handles its own Calhoun County municipal warrants, and its rules are worth knowing before you call. Local Southside warrants can be checked by telephone through the Police Department. An out-of-area warrant check is different. That one takes an in-person visit to the department. The city's official pages list two different general nonemergency numbers, so treat the Municipal Court at (256) 442-9775 as the stated case channel and ask which police contact applies before you drive anywhere. The court meets on the second and fourth Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. and hears city traffic, criminal misdemeanor, and code matters.
Southside's Calhoun County citation portal works two ways: Last Name plus Citation/Case Number, or Last Name plus Date of Birth. The court also posts a voice payment line at (256) 480-9081. Neither is a public warrant list. They are citation and payment tools. PTIP, an optional Calhoun County traffic-case program, is not automatic either. You must appear and apply, the prosecutor and judge decide eligibility, and it may mean online traffic school, costs, and no new charges. It is not an automatic FTA recall, so call before paying and ask whether the court has already issued warrant process.
Inside a Municipal Court Warrant
A Calhoun County municipal court file can tie together the citation or complaint, the city charge, warrant process, your appearance history, bond, and any later recall or service. There is no standard municipal warrant number, shared field list, or public sample. Use the court-assigned case or citation number from your own notice and ask how that court labels each status. One city's screen terms may mean something else in another.
| Case or Citation Number | The city court’s identifier; no countywide format is published. |
|---|---|
| Defendant | The person named in the city case, matched with date of birth where needed. |
| Charge | The municipal traffic, ordinance, misdemeanor, or FTA matter tied to the record. |
| Issuing Court | The municipal judge and city docket that control the process. |
| Bond or Amount | Case-specific terms that must be confirmed before payment or surrender. |
| Current Action | Appearance, payment, surrender, service, or court recall as the clerk defines it. |
The Calhoun County Sheriff table shows a narrower layout. It skips case number, issuing court, bond, public status, and update time. No single row can give you the full city-court record.
Calhoun County Municipal Warrant Surrender
Jacksonville Municipal Court posts a clear Calhoun County municipal-warrant surrender path. A person with an outstanding warrant is told to turn themselves in to Jacksonville Police. Processing comes first. Then you get a chance to post the approved bond and receive a court date. Call the court at (256) 435-6960 beforehand, because each warrant carries a specific amount and the city promises nothing universal for walk-ins. Jacksonville's FAQ says an FTA warrant requires cash, while other warrants may allow an approved bonding company, property bond, or cash. County Sheriff guidance adds that cash bond goes through the proper court, never jail personnel, and release still needs the judge's order to reach the jail. Paying a normal citation by card or at the after-hours kiosk is a separate process. Card payments carry a $3 minimum or four-percent convenience charge, whichever is greater.
Note: A bond covers release and future attendance; it does not dismiss the Jacksonville municipal charge or erase the next court date.
How to Resolve a Municipal Court Warrant
Only the Calhoun County city court that issued a municipal warrant can resolve it. Ask that court for the exact warrant type, any bond or hold, the required appearance, the allowed payment method, the surrender location, and whether the judge must enter a recall. An attorney can explain your Calhoun County options and contact the court where needed. Court staff can state records and procedure but cannot recommend a legal course. No countywide municipal amnesty, self-service recall form, or universal safe-surrender period exists here.
- Confirm the process and city docket with the municipal clerk or magistrate.
- Get legal advice when an appearance may result in custody or the required action is unclear.
- Pay, appear, surrender, or post bond only through the route the issuing court approves.
- Obtain the new date, receipt, bond paper, or recall order and complete the underlying case duties.
- Call the same court and confirm the updated warrant status after the expected processing time.
Warning: A municipal payment portal does not prove an FTA warrant was recalled; rely on the issuing court’s documented status.
Calhoun County Municipal Warrant Clearance
Keep every Calhoun County municipal-warrant record you get. A receipt proves payment, not necessarily recall. Bond papers state release terms, but the city case stays open. A new docket notice sets your next duty. The strongest proof a warrant is withdrawn is a recall order or direct confirmation from the municipal clerk. Ask when the city system and any Sheriff-held information should update, then check again through the same source.
Each city runs its own channel. Anniston's Warrant Unit serves process but posts no public list. Oxford's magistrate counter handles its own city record checks. Jacksonville uses a personal surrender route for confirmed outstanding warrants. Southside allows local phone checks plus a citation search. Piedmont and Ohatchee stay clerk-first, since neither city publishes portal details. That variety is why a Calhoun County municipal-warrant search can never stop at one database. For a city traffic matter, the Calhoun County traffic warrant search separates the court's FTA record, the payment step, court clearance, and any later ALEA action.
